DRILL TEAM – from Sept 18th – May 28th – Tuesday’s

Drill team is open to all cadets regardless of their level of experience and meets on Tuesday evenings. New cadets can expect to learn basic drill movements, such as standing at attention and standing at ease, along with more advanced movements, such as turns on the march. Cadets are broken into two teams (depending on the number of cadets) and are taught one of two routines, depending on their knowledge of drill. One team is primarily made up of new cadets who learn a sequence of movements with their commander calling the commands. The second group also does a routine with called commands, but must also learn a sequence of memorized drill movements (no commands are called during this sequence). Both teams compete each year at the regional drill competition against other Squadrons in the Ottawa area.
