Community Impact

The Air Cadet program is all about providing youth training and practical experience in life skills such as leadership, teamwork, self disipline, self motivation, goal setting, respect, health, education, physical fitness, and community involvement.

As such we are investing in our future leaders. Regardless of whether they will eventually be in government, private industry, military, or small business, these youth are developing valuable skills that they will carry with them throughout their lives.

Snata Claus ParadeOur squadron is actively involved in a variety of community efforts such as Fallen Firefighters Parade, Battle of Britain Parade, Rememberance Day, Santa Clause Parade, helping with seniors, and working with Vintage Wings to help restore aged aircraft and preserve our rich aviation heritage.

Community Support

One of the cadet philosophies is universal access - there is no cost for youth to be involved in the cadet program. The program is open to any and all youth who are willing to make a commitment and put in the effort.

This program is partially funded via the Canadian Armed Forces (providing uniforms and training the squadron staff and at least partially subsidizing the core activities). This, however does not cover the full cost of the program and does not cover any of the additional activities run at the squadron level.

To keep our squadron's program vibrant, we occasionally need to reach out to our community for additional support.

You may:

  • See our cadets in uniform at various establishments on Tag Days with their donation cans and tags (usually twice per year).
  • Participate in our annual Spaghetti Dinner and Auction or provide items for the auction.
  • Offer discounts on food used for cadet activities such as fly days or bush weekend.
  • Contribute to our Squadron through your United Way contributions.
  • Make a cookie dough order.
  • Make a charitable donation directly to the squadron either in person, through one of the sponsoring committee or staff members, or directly via this web site.

Regardless of how you help, you are investing in the future of our community and our country. As a charitable organization, tax receipts are available for donations greater than $10.

We would like to thank the regular & occasional supporters in our community. Please visit our sponsor page to view a complete list.
