Biathlon is a sporting event consisting of Cross Country Skiing (or running) and Marksmanship. All interested cadets are welcome to participate.

A Squadron and Zone competition will be held in the spring.

Dress for doing sports and suitable for the weather, including running shoes. Bring a water bottle, snack and sunscreen.

Biathalon
The Cadet Biathalon Program is an olympic styled event which combines timed nordic style skiing and marksmanship. Cadets are encouraged to participate in this physically demanding international sport which is an individual effort sport. Cadets on this program are trained in physical fitness, muscle strenghtening and physical endurance, as well as marksmanship and shooting skills. Famous Canadian Olympian and Gold Medalist Myriam Bédard began her passion in Biathalon with the cadet program. Biathalon is held at different times and locations as announced.
Marksmanship
The Cadet Marksmanship Program teaches cadets the safe handling and respect of smallbore rifles. Cadets are taught to fire .22 caliber No.7 Enfield , and Anschutz rifles and .177 Air Rifles. The Cadet program focuses on groupings the objective of which is to place several shoots within a small diameter of each other, ideally less than 10 mm. This program begins in Level One with a familiarization program and is continued as optional training culminating in several inter unit competitions.
